New Zealand France Friendship Fund Excellence Scholarship
New Zealand France Friendship Fund Excellence Scholarship
The New Zealand-France Friendship Fund (NZFFF) was established in 1991 to promote friendly relations between the peoples of New Zealand and France.
It has Boards in New Zealand and France, which meet annually to award grants to projects which meet the Fund’s philosophy of promoting friendly relations and understanding – often school exchanges, historical research, and cultural activities; and particularly targeting young people.
From 2009 a reciprocal excellence scholarship will be awarded annually by the France New Zealand Friendship Fund to one New Zealand and one French student for postgraduate studies in the other country at masters or doctoral level.
The New Zealand student receives a one-off grant of NZ$ 25 000. New Zealand applications are to be made to the French Embassy in Wellington by 31 December each year for studies in France during the following academic year. The selection meeting takes place in Wellington in February with representatives from the Friendship Fund, Universities New Zealand (formerly the New Zealand Vice-Chancellors’ Committee) and the French Embassy. Results are announced later that month.
