The New Zealand France Friendship Fund was established in 1991 by agreement between the French and New Zealand governments with the aim of promoting friendly relations between the citizens of the two countries. It seeks to enhance and deepen the historical, constructive and vibrant relationship between France and New Zealand. It does this by providing financial assistance to projects which lead to ongoing links, understanding and friendship between the citizens of the two countries, especially young citizens.
Projects can come from any sphere of interaction including, but not limited to, cultural, artistic, sporting, historical, educational and entertainment endeavours. The key criterion is the constructive exchange between citizens of France and New Zealand.

Le Fonds d’Amitié a été instauré en 1991 à la suite d’un accord entre les gouvernements français et néo-zélandais, pour promouvoir l’amitié entre les citoyens des deux pays. Il a pour objet de créer et de développer des relations fortes et durables entre la France et la Nouvelle-Zélande.
Pour cela, le Fonds offre une assistance financière aux projets qui conduisent à l’établissement de liens durables, à l’intercompréhension et à l’amitié entre les citoyens des deux pays, notamment les plus jeunes d’entre eux.
Les projets peuvent concerner tous les domaines de la vie culturelle, artistique, sportive, éducative et historique (mais ne sont pas limités à ces seuls domaines). Le critère principal est le caractère constructif de l’échange que le projet vise à instaurer.
